Jack-o'-lantern

Despite his obsession with all things jack-o'-lantern, Evan wasn't too sure about this carving business.

He kept trying to flick it off of his hand.

Okay, so maybe this is pretty cool...

Once he saw it on his shoes he was done!
Finished product. It didn't turn out quite as I had hoped, and it didn't photograph well. In case you can't tell it is supposed to be a scary tree.

Waiting for Dada

Ben went to the store on Sunday, and of course as soon as Evan saw the door open he wanted to go outside too. So we hung out in the front yard waiting for dada. Where is he?
Hmmm...still don't see him.
Oh, oh, could that be him?
Nope! But this is my new favorite photo of Evan.
What is taking so long?
Yes, he can reach the doorknobs now!
Oh, the neighbor is leaving! Bye-bye.
Bye-bye!
Again, bye-bye (they had to turn the car around, so the waving lasted a long time).
Where is he mom?

Hi mom!
Bye bye (different car).

Saturday Fun

For the first time in months Ben didn't have to work last Saturday. So we enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend. Evan got a lot of outside time. Go Cal!
This boy loves to swing, high!

Here is the dance sequence...

Uh-oh, the music stopped.
Oh good, it's back!

Dada, let me hold those hose!
And he's soaked!

A Little of This, a Little of That

I can't believe it has been almost three weeks since I have posted! I guess we've been busy. Evan has added some new words to his vocabulary. The most popular right now are lights (sounds like lie), jack-o'-lantern (sounds like jacko) and please (sounds like peas). He loves to point to lights, as well as turn them off and on, but his favorite light right now is his jacko. Now that the teeth are in and the cold has passed, we are once again working on sleeping for periods longer than three hours at night. Someday...
Evan loves to help! Here he is "helping" me make zucchini bread. Look at that tongue! This is pure concentration.

Now this tongue is not concentration. He is licking his lips after licking the spoon. This warranted his first actual, "yum."
Here he is helping with the luggage and giving his baby jacko a ride.
A boy and his truck.
Helping mama get ready for Age of Sail.
A hard good-bye. My second night away from him, was much harder than the first, but I survived and so did he.
Family photo before I left for my voyage in stormy San Francisco.
Evan seems to eat so much more when he gets to sit at his little table and draw while he eats. Probably not a great habit to start, but sometimes he just needs to eat.

I love this one!

Love those dimples!
He must have been really into that ball game on the TV....
Photo shoot with grandma and papa before they head home.

Evan did everything but take a nap for two hours while in his crib on Sunday...

...I guess this answers the question, "Why would a high chair need to recline?"
Playing with daddy before dinner.
This outfit is too cute!
Evan loves his new basketball hoop, and he is a natural.
