A Couple of Firsts

On Thursday evening Evan was at Buckeye waiting for the Tall Sailor meeting when he took two steps, twice! He repeated it again for Ben in the front yard the next night, but not since. He also had another first on Thursday. He added another word to his repertoire...no! He doesn't always use it accurately, but he does know what it means. For example, when he was about to pull the water handle down, he looked at me and said "Noooo!" as he smiled and pulled away. He also taught himself to get up and down from his little chair. So well in fact that we had to move them to higher ground because he would climb all the way to standing.
All of these in the hat were taken within seconds of each other, and he looks so different in all of them.
His latest walker.

Such a little man:)
I turn around for two seconds and he is developing the mail in Shadow's water bowl...yuck! Of course, since he was now already dirty, I let him continue to make a mess and turn the water into a stew by adding dog food to it a fistful at a time.

Chinese food, yum!
Look at those eyes!
Here is saying his newest word.

Climbing on the couch. He can do this all by himself if one of us is on the couch (making the cushion that much thinner and closer to the ground).

Who needs to walk when you can run?

Evan will do anything to walk these days. Last week at daycare he even used his friend Mateo (who is 6 months older) as a walker.

Fun with Cousins

Evan spent a lot of time with his cousins Brynn and Avery this weekend. Three kids, a tunnel and bubbles...what could be more fun? Only swings, a trampoline and pool! Evan's molars are giving him a hard time at night, and randomly through the day, but for the most part he is still as happy as ever. He has taught himself how to climb up on the couch, yikes!

Brynn looks so happy in this one!

Avery took these next five shots. Pretty good for a five year old trying to capture a one year old.

I love this one!

So, yeah, he might have my skin:)
Craig bought this slide from the neighbor's garage sale, and Avery wasted no time breaking it in!

Dancing Machine

Evan had his first day back at daycare last week, but today was my first day of school. I have a boy in my class named Jay, and he is named after the KU Jayhawk too! Even weirder, he has the same birthday as Ben. Should be a good year:) Evan entertained us last night with his basketball skills.

A little frustrated when the plate wasn't cooperating with him.
Despite the fact that he is getting his one year molars, Evan was all smiles Sunday night as he danced the last night of summer away.

I swear he moves to the beat in this next one!

Finally he had to take a break from all the dancing to make an important phone call!
