Week 51

Evan has had a big week this week! Grandma and Papa Burrows were here for the weekend, and whenever we have company I tend to take more pictures and video because there is someone else there to play with Evan. Evan has been trying a lot of new foods, but the big one for this week was milk. Yes, he had milk and there were no stomach pains to follow! This means I can have milk products too! Yay! I am only slightly excited, can you tell? Evan also went to Samantha's first birthday party and of course I forgot my camera. Do you know what he decided to do while we were there? Crawl on his hands and knees! We were on a blanket on the grass, and sure enough when I put him on a blanket on the grass at home, he did it again. However, by the time I got my camera he had figured out that he can scoot on the blanket too. At least we know he can do it. He scoots so well that now he only uses his right leg most of the time. It is pretty cute. He got really good at giving kisses this weekend, and he also started to imitate me when I would wave and say hi. He didn't say hi, but he did wave today. He is going to get his first haircut on Thursday, but there are some good pictures of his wild hair below. Sometimes when he wakes up from his nap he has a pretty good curl going, which makes me wonder if he will have his daddy's hair after all. Well, this is a long narrative, but there are also a lot of pictures and video to accompany it. Enjoy!
Saying good-bye to grandma.
The only way to get him to stay in one general area, put him on the grass! He wasn't a big fan of how if felt.
Crawling on his hands and knees, kinda.

When he first saw this muffin he looked confused.

He started off tearing off little pieces...
...but that muffin didn't stand a chance!
He looks pretty proud of himself.
Check out the curl!

This was him trying milk for the first time.
I think he likes it!

This is right before, and right after, he did a little whale spout of milk out of his mouth. It sure did surprise him!

Reading to his papa.
Playing with his early birthday presents from grandma and papa.

Playing with his ball popper. He can finally turn it on and chase after the balls.

Not only does Evan no longer like to wear hats, he doesn't like anyone else to either.

Watch his left leg!

Since we got our new floors, he needed a little padding while learning to crawl.

Wait! I'm coming dada, take me with you!

Enjoying some melon after a long hot day.

Give me a kiss!
Please:)
He may have his mommy's facial features, but his facial expressions are just like his daddy.

Week 50

Let the fun begin! Twice last week Susan reported that Evan was standing up when she went to get him after his nap. He hasn't done it yet in his crib at home (at least not that we know of), but he has done it in his port-a-crib. Maybe he is going to skip right past crawling on his hands and knees and go straight to walking. He tried watermelon, cantaloupe, and graham crackers this week. The latter two went over well. Watermelon, not so much. He is also "drinking" from a sippy cup pretty well, even if most of it ends up on his tray. I cannot believe that he is almost a year old. Where has the time gone?
He is getting good at taking bites of the graham crackers, and actually gumming/chewing it before taking another bite.

He got a new chair because someone was giving it away, and he really likes to slam his head back against the chair in his booster seat. So, we got one with padding.
Evan went to his first birthday party. Well, not his birthday, but his first party. His cousin Avery turned 5, and we celebrated at John's Incredible Pizza. Needless to say he was tired when we got home, and took a long nap. He woke up all sweaty, which explains his open shirt and bed head.
Helping mommy with the laundry.

Isn't this outfit cute? The Seales got it for him in Hawaii last summer.
Trying on his shades. He doesn't like them on his face anymore than he likes a hat on his head.

The sippy cup shower!
Oops! That time Shadow got the shower.
Playing outside at 8 am before the heat set in.
What a big boy!

Evan decided to wake up early last week, so he got to take Shadow for a walk with me. I tried to get a picture of him from my point of view on these walks. He is so precious, and the pictures don't even come close to doing it justice.
