Okay, so technically this wasn't part of the weekend, but we took Evan to the drive-in for the first time on Tuesday. Yes, those are rain boots, a jacket, and a blanket on top of his long sleeved jammies. Tuesday it was raining, by the weekend, over 100! Crazy weather!
He is a little excited about Grandpa Bob coming to visit for the 4th of July.
Yes, only three days later, he is naked in the yard, feeling the need to cool off in a bucket:)
For Father's Day we gave Ben tickets to a Rivercats game. We were lucky enough to get the seat right next to us for my dad. Lucky for us, maybe not for him. I have mentioned that it was over 100 degrees outside, right? We brought our fan and lots of water, and it still wasn't enough.
Our view. I would absolutely choose these seats again. Great view, and we were in the shade the entire time.

The family in front of us was too cute. Julia, couldn't stop turning around to look and smile at Evan.
Ben purchased another fan...still not enough.
Evan was having a great time, and again getting silly because it was way past his bed time.
I must admit, once the Rivercats started losing, this was where my attention was focused.
I kept telling him, "Point them at mommy or daddy!" No need to waste that air.

Once we moved up here we were all smiling because there was a glorious breeze.
Evan is getting sad because he is realizing that we are about to go. He immediately wanted to go back and had a hard time understanding why we couldn't go back the next day.
The ballgame did dad in, and he was ready to get out of the heat, but we convinced him to go to the bike parade.
Evan loved the fire engine, but he was ready to play as soon as it went by. He had no interest in watching the bikes go by again.
Shortly after this we won $200 in the raffle, awesome! We booked it out of there before someone realized we don't belong. We said good-bye to grandpa, and then Evan took a very long nap. When he woke up, we headed out to Folsom to take advantage of Auntie Brooke's pool.
They were supposed to just be picking up all the toys, but they took their sweet time.

Finally, to Bandera to watch the Cal Expo fireworks and to set off our own.
All in all, a great weekend despite the heat. Not the same as CC, but hey, we made it our own and it turned out pretty well.
