Having a Ball

Evan is really beginning to enjoy this walking business. He is nearly running most the time, and now he has discovered how fun playing ball in the house can be.

Future Chef?

Evan and I took Ben out to breakfast for his birthday and then later we made him a cake. Here Evan must have been thinking about what he was going to have for breakfast.
He needed a bowl and a whisk, just like mommy.

He decided he worked better in the living room...
so he had to carry his supplies.

I LOVE this look! Too funny!

So, he finally got to taste some birthday cake, and he wanted nothing to do with it! All he wanted to do was squish it between his fingers.
This was when daddy tried to feed him some.
Mom, I think some went up my nose!

Silly Boy

Evan was having a great time in the bath the other night. He couldn't stop cracking himself up. These pictures just make me smile:)

State Fair

Evan woke up Saturday with another new tooth! This makes 12! So, needless to say we haven't been getting much sleep in the McClure household. A little corn on the cob at the state fair.
Whew, only in the 80s, but it still felt hot!
Checking out all the farm animals. The horse was by far his favorite...must run in the family.

So of course when we rode the carousel, he had to have a horse.
He loved to look up and watch the machine above us.

Evan couldn't stop staring at the girl next to him. We have discovered that he is not the most discrete when it come to people watching.

Oh, the wind in my hair... Big boy sitting all by himself.

What is a trip to the fair without cutout picture...

...or two?
Home after a long day.

Weekend Walking

Now he is a walker!

After practicing all day at daycare, Evan is officially a walker! In this first video he walks from the kitchen to his bedroom. In the second one he stands up all on his own:)

If you fall, you get up again, over and over, you get up again.

Walking!

It is fitting that the 100th post on Evan's blog is a video of him walking...yes walking! I am not saying he is a walker by any means, but he has taken multiple steps:) You can tell how excited we both are in the video.

A Couple of Firsts

On Thursday evening Evan was at Buckeye waiting for the Tall Sailor meeting when he took two steps, twice! He repeated it again for Ben in the front yard the next night, but not since. He also had another first on Thursday. He added another word to his repertoire...no! He doesn't always use it accurately, but he does know what it means. For example, when he was about to pull the water handle down, he looked at me and said "Noooo!" as he smiled and pulled away. He also taught himself to get up and down from his little chair. So well in fact that we had to move them to higher ground because he would climb all the way to standing.
All of these in the hat were taken within seconds of each other, and he looks so different in all of them.
His latest walker.

Such a little man:)
I turn around for two seconds and he is developing the mail in Shadow's water bowl...yuck! Of course, since he was now already dirty, I let him continue to make a mess and turn the water into a stew by adding dog food to it a fistful at a time.

Chinese food, yum!
Look at those eyes!
Here is saying his newest word.

Climbing on the couch. He can do this all by himself if one of us is on the couch (making the cushion that much thinner and closer to the ground).
