State Fair

Between Ashland and Santa Cruz we made a brief stop at home to do laundry and go to the state fair.

 This wasn't Evan's first trip to the state fair, but it was his first time riding the rides. Let's just say, he was a fan.

 The tractors were cool looking, but very difficult to maneuver.

 So, they opted for the horsed instead.

First Camping Trip

Before we hit the road for Evan's first camping trip, we went to Christy's baby shower. Evan chose the kiss with the grand prize of a $5 bill and a roll of dimes. Woohoo! Spending money for his trip:) He also got these cool glasses and megaphone.

 Made for a fun ride! Luckily, daddy got smart and used the megaphone to hold his snack of goldfish:)

 We got to our campsite a little late, ate some s'mores and went to bed. Evan woke up and the first thing he wanted...

 s'mores! He settled for a cereal bar:)

 Evan's first swim in a lake. I was a nervous wreck the whole time, but he liked it.

 Grandma and Papa Mac came over to join us in Ashland for two nights of camping.

 Grandma Tammy, Papa Kirk, Kaleya, and Alysha were camping at a nearby campground. We went to their campground to swim, and they came to ours for dinner the first night, and to swim in the lake the next day. We were so lucky to have so many people there to make Evan's first camping trip special.
