Week 29

Just a few more days until we get to celebrate Evan's first Christmas and we are preparing for our trip to Crescent City. Ben, Evan, Shadow, and I will all be making the 7+ hour trip in our Nissan Sentra (on Christmas Eve). So, it is a good thing he is so darn cute and I can just look at those big blue eyes whenever I ask myself, "What are we doing, are we crazy?"
We went up to Sue's house today to play and make cookies.
This is Evan with Sol (and Cookie Monster).
Cookie Monster was far more interesting than any of us or the cookies.

Evan and Sue
Evan's auntie and uncle brought his cousins over to play while I took Ben to the doctor (he tweaked his knee at work, but seems to be feeling better).
Avery, Evan, and Brynn

This is a picture of Evan up way past his bedtime.
Oh bananas! They are his "favorite" so far. Meaning he spit them out less often than anything else we have tried.

He enjoyed playing with the spoon afterward.

Evan went to the doctor this week and got his 6 months shots. He was a trooper, but the next day he was a little out of sorts. He weighed in at 17 pounds 10 ounces, which is right at the 50th percentile for his age, and at the 25th percentile for his length (27.5 inches, which is the 75th percentile for his age). His head circumference is at about 16.5 inches (15th percentile).

I guess I should dust and/or clean the mirror if he is going to be touching it now.

Thank you Sue for yet another entertaining onesie.
Getting ready for his last day at daycare for two whole weeks!

Have I mentioned that he ALWAYS has something in his mouth?

He and Shadow aren't so sure about eachother still.
But that doesn't stop Shadow from wanting to lick him!

Week 28

As I said before, Evan loves lights. So, Ben has been hard at work making sure that we are greeted with a lot of lights every night when we come home. Evan opened his first Christmas gift (from Brittany), and he loved it. Although, like I was told he would, he loved the paper and ribbon most of all.

He got cute onesies and a book. What a lucky little boy.
He didn't want to give up the rubber ducky after his bath tonight.

He has figured out a quicker way to get his tummy. Get someone to sit him up, and then just ease his way forward. Who needs to bother with this rolling over business?

It looks like he is laughing so hard he has to hold his gut.

You can really see his beautiful lashes in these next two.

Feet are the greatest entertainment!

Oh, but he still loves his hands!
Okay, so goofy picture of me, but his smile was too good to pass up. Sometimes my goofy faces are worth it.

Evan had his first holiday party. The party was at Sue's house. Here he is with Jan (soon to be first time grandma)...
and with Julie...
and with Sue and Jenelle...
and with me. You can see that a wardrobe change is necessary.
And the winner of the tackiest, wackiest holiday gear...our principal Deedra!
Here he is with Becky, Julie, Me, Sue, and Brittany. Note the new outfit, good thing I brought back-up party attire.

Week 27

Since he started teething, his sleep patterns have been really off and here is a picture of a sleepy baby ready for bed.

Evan may not like the pears...
...but Shadow is ready to take whatever Evan doesn't finish.
He prefers to use the highchair to hold his piano!

What are you doing mom?
Evan LOVES the tree!
Evan has been chewing on everything and thinking it is absolutely hilarious.

Maybe he'll be an acrobat instead of a swimmer... As you can see, Evan is more interested in his own fingers and toes than the apples I am attempting to feed him!

Bath Time

Evan has always enjoyed a shower or a bath, but now he can play!
