End of Summer

As our summer came winding down, Evan had a visit from Grandma Tammy and Papa Kirk. Here he is preparing for his future in percussion. Or, maybe not.
I got a new camera last week, and it has the most amazing feature, the smile feature! It can actually detect when he is smiling and takes the picture automatically. It really works!

Evan is really into mixing things right now. Here he is mixing things in his cup and then drinking it, only there isn't anything in the cup...

Smile feature again! It is amazing! I absolutely LOVE this picture!

Heading out to visit with our Buckeye family.
In the pool at the Prock resort (smile feature again).
Testing the smile feature on a new subject...
...it works on Brittany too! Have I sold you on this feature yet?

A shot of his new tooth! This makes number 7.
A shot of our new hair dos. Apparently something was very funny to Evan, hope it wasn't the hair.
This is one of Evan's favorite activities while I cook or clean.
He takes them out and sets (or throws) them on the floor.

Learns Something New Every Day

Evan taught himself to get on and off his truck. By the next day he wasn't just sitting on it, he was pushing himself around the kitchen.

Haircut Take Two

Evan got his second haircut at one of those kid specialty salons. Boy did he enjoy it! From the train set and Lego's while waiting, to the car he sat in for the haircut while watching a DVD. He was in heaven. It was definitely time, don't you think?

Um, what are you putting around my neck?

Checking himself out.
The new do (Ben was afraid it would be a permanent fauxhawk)!

The Beach (Montage Style)

On Friday we went to the beach, Montage style. This is the beach directly below Alysha's work, and she hooked us up with a great set up for the day. Evan loved it, and had a great time taking it all in. After his trip to So Cal, there is hope that he didn't get my sun weary skin because despite being lathered in sunscreen, he came home with a farmer tan.

He loved the birds and all the other kids.

He wasn't quite sure what to think of this moving water. It was very different from anything he has experienced before.

San Diego Wild Animal Park

Evan had his first visit to a big park. We went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park, and he really enjoyed himself (despite the heat).

We were a little worried at first that he wasn't going to notice the animals, since this rhino stirred no response. But, as you will see in the video and photos, he really got into it.

Evan really enjoyed the carousel, it may have been his favorite part.

Auntie Alysha's

Evan experienced his first plan ride. We headed to The OC to visit Auntie Alysha, and to celebrate our 4th anniversary. I was worried about his ears, but everything went smoothly (I think the TV may have played a part in that). He did do better on our morning flight than our evening flight, but maybe he was just missing his auntie.
Checking out all the cool untouchables at auntie's house.

Evan giving Evan kisses:)

A little BBQ before we headed to the airport.

Here Evan is showing off his dancing skills!

And here he not only shows off his R & B dancing moves, but his new skill of getting off the bed.
